Bernal: In Táchira, 36 citizens will be prosecuted for violent acts after 28J

A total of 36 citizens have been brought before the competent courts and 15 are wanted for terrorist acts committed in various parts of the state, according to the Governor of Táchira, Freddy Bernal.

“36 individuals, previously declared, photographed, recorded and with witnesses. They will be given harsh sentences. The least is eight years for instigating hatred, and those who are proven to have committed acts of terrorism will be sentenced to between 16 and 25 years in prison, they will have to answer for it,” Bernal said.

Of the number of detainees, two are minors. In these cases, the corresponding laws will be applied and their representatives will be summoned. They are detained, they have confessed and are going to court, “now they say they are innocent, they are crying. We have their videos, their statements and we have their photos.”

He also pointed out that currently 15 have arrest warrants, they are already profiled by name, surname, phone number, WhatsApp conversations, with the orders they received, where and how much they were paid and they are being sought by intelligence agencies.

Bernal said that they tried to turn Táchira once again into the center of the conspiracy, that from here they would start setting fire to Venezuela, that it would be a liberated zone, and they were wrong, they crashed against a people who want peace and “they crashed against a governor who exercises authority.”

He described a macabre plan, designed by fascism, that began on Sunday night, to disrupt the peaceful position of Venezuelans who went out to vote for 10 candidates. “They had set up an April 11th, similar to what they set up in 2002, the trap, a march to end in deaths. Here we went to an electoral event and they had another plan, seeking violence, blood, and to overthrow the government.”

He pointed out that this had a positive impact on social media, instilling hatred and stirring up people, “within these groups there were decent people, and they also brought in paid criminals with planned plans, they have already confessed, there are already masterminds and they are already being prosecuted by the competent courts throughout Venezuela, and here in Táchira.”

He thanked the people of Táchira for their civility, the vast majority of citizens who did not lend themselves to generating violence, “there were only a few outbreaks on election day, Monday and Tuesday, which were reduced by the Bolivarian National Armed Forces and the police on patrol, without major disturbances. They lifted sewers, threatened to burn institutions, UBCH and community leaders, especially women, because they are cowards.”

He confirmed that Táchira is at peace, normality has been restored, public transport is working. There is sufficient supply of gasoline and diesel, the fair workers are already starting to transport their food to the rest of the country, the cattle ranchers are starting to move their animals to the various slaughterhouses. Commerce is opening up.”

The dire times of Táchira, of riots, violence and death will never return to the state, “I am the governor of all the people of Táchira, of those who are in favor of the government, of those who are not, and of those who do not vote for anyone. I have instructions from President Maduro to do, in perfect civil-military-police unity, what we have done in the last three years, to guarantee peace.”

He called on all sectors to promote peace, “make a call for peace, I am a man of peace, I am not violent, I am not offensive, I do not threaten anyone, I only comply with the law and I have the obligation to guarantee that businesses open without anyone looting them, that ranchers can move around without anyone threatening them, that industrialists open their businesses with peace of mind and that ordinary people go to the restaurant, to the market, anywhere and feel safe and protected.”

Fake news

Regarding media manipulation and lies, the governor gave two examples, where they cited Táchira through Fakenews, one related to an alleged tank in La Fría, capital of the García de Hevia municipality, in the northern part of the state, “they said that the Bolivarian National Guard had rebelled. That happened when Juan Guaidó crossed the border and unfortunately some officers betrayed at that time and were tried by the competent courts for treason.”

He commented on another fake news about a boy who had been murdered on a motorcycle, “it turns out that the young man is a joker, he had made that video about two years ago, for December 28th for the day of the Holy Innocents and they placed it and spread it as someone who was murdered, and there are people who believe that, and they repeat it and go crazy, they give opinions and say things based on a lie.”
