The president of the Republic, Nicolas Maduro, revealed on Wednesday that the extreme right led by González Urrutia and María Corina Machado intended to attack the Simón Bolívar Hydroelectric Plant of El Guri during the presidential elections of last July 28, with the support of the North American empire and criminal gangs in Colombia, in order to sabotage the electrical system throughout the country and assault the Miraflores Palace.
“On Sunday they were planning to leave the country without electricity from midday. Another attack at eight in the evening, we managed to dispel and control the Guri Central, today we captured the one who was going to attack it. The objective was the Guri, catastrophic, to leave the country without electricity. The population intuitively voted early. Both opponents and patriots. In the afternoon, they voted in a small number of ways, as it was fast, there was no queue. By one in the afternoon, 46% of the voters had already turned up. Everything is known in life and the evidence is coming out,” he revealed.
From the Miraflores Palace, in the Ayacucho Room, during a press conference with international media, the head of State reported that the main leader who would attack Guri was captured, “and they must already be capturing the other members of the network contacted by the commanders of the terrorist María Machado to attack Guri.”
“With extreme security measures, we managed to protect the El Guri power plant. We have already captured those involved,” he said.
The national leader also denounced that the extreme right wanted to create a blackout to prevent the election results and cause greater tension in the population with the help of the international media, in order to broadcast to the world an uprising that they themselves had provoked. “What they did manage to do was attack the data system of the National Electoral Council and also damage some of the offices of this entity,” he said.
“For them, it was vital, in order to promote hatred and violence and justify a new April 11, that there were no results and that Monday dawned as it did, they had a plan A, B and C. A without results, and the following a violent, criminal and fascist action, which we managed to confront in time,” he added.
He recalled that last Friday, July 26, some individuals were captured who intended to attack the Ureña Electric Substation, to leave that region of the country without electricity, and, in addition, that chain of events would affect 10 states of Venezuela. “And they do not stop with their plans. The logisticians of the plan to sabotage the Ureña Electric Substation fled to Colombia, they have already been identified,” he said.
In this regard, President Maduro said that “Venezuela has stabilized its electrical system. I congratulate Venezuela’s Minister of Electric Energy, Jorge Márquez, for being attentive to the plans.”
