US says start of new tariffs on China will be delayed by at least two weeks

In May, the USTR said the tariffs would take effect on Aug. 1, but the office said it is still reviewing 1,100 comments received and now expects to issue a final determination.

Some of the US tariff increases on a range of Chinese imports, including electric vehicles and their batteries, computer chips and medical products, will be delayed by at least two weeks.

(WASHINGTON) – The office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR) said Tuesday that some of the sharp increases in US tariffs on a range of Chinese importsincluding electric vehicles and their batteries, computer chips and medical products will be delayed by at least two weeks.
