The Board Office in Caracas, Venezuela, suspends services as of today

Santo Domingo.- The Central Electoral Board (JCE) reported this Wednesday that the Caracas office will not be operating as of today, due to the “indefinite suspension” of diplomatic relations between Venezuela and the Dominican Republic.

The JCE released this information through a statement on social media, in which it urges the Dominican community in the South American country to keep an eye on its social media to be informed about the “next actions” that will be taken.

The decision to “suspend” relations between the Dominican Republic and Venezuela was taken by Nicolás Maduro in rejection of the alleged interventionist actions of the Caribbean nation regarding the elections on Sunday, July 28, which grant him a third six-year term.
