In a final of champions, Eduardo Arango III defeated Omar Tejeira Jaén in a playoff and took the honors of the Apagolf Elite National Ranking and National Team Cup, which was held at Vista Mar Golf Club on a weekend packed with the best Panamanian players and good scores.
Tejeira and Arango III finished tied with 208 strokes in the three rounds of this tournament, so they needed to go to a playoff to proclaim the champion of this edition, the first of three scheduled editions.
In addition, Arango III’s victory earned him important points for the WAGR, World Amateur Ranking and, together with Lucca González, he formed the winning team of the National Team Cup.
“I am very proud of this victory, I dedicate it to God and my family, for all their support throughout my career as a golfer,” said the champion.
Arango III, on the beautiful Vista Mar course, with a par of 72 for its 18 holes, played like this: 67-67-74. Tejeira performed like this: 72-69-67.
This event is organized by the Panama Golf Association and its contenders on this date were Lucca González, Raúl Carbonell, Luis Motta, Juan Pablo Motta, Jean Paul Ducruet and Ignacio Fernández.
