The controversy over the corruption scandal in Risk Management does not stop and in the midst of the storm involving high-ranking officials of the Casa de Nariño, the Attorney General’s Office called a new group of people who worked in the government of President Gustavo Petro and congressmen to account, for being allegedly related to the acts of corruption that have come to light.
According to the announcement made by this regulatory body, on this occasion those required are, first of all, the former deputy director of Disaster Management of the National Unit for Disaster Risk Management, Sneyder Pinilla Álvarez, who would be related to the alleged irregularities in the purchase of 1,000 water reserve tanks for ranches in La Guajira.

“After reviewing the documents, it was noted that the official had incurred in irregularities during the pre-contractual and execution stage of the bilateral contract, for which he had made arrangements for the invitation of bidders and the selection of the contractor, and was in charge of supervising the supply order,” explained this organization.
It should be remembered that this investigation began with the complaint of an apparently irregular purchase of tank trucks in La Guajira, using resources from the Risk Management Unit, which then escalated to the alleged purchase of votes in Congress to guarantee the approval of the social reforms promoted by this Government, using the resources from this embezzlement.
Along with Pinilla Álvarez, the Attorney General’s Office required Victor Andrés Meza Galván; and the Vice President of Derivative Contracting of Fiduprevisora SA, Daniela Andrade Valencia, in the file that was opened on May 31 for the possible overcharges that were paid to acquire three desalination plants for $42 billion for La Guajira.

In the same process, an investigation was opened in previous days against the Minister of Finance, Ricardo Bonilla González, the former Minister of the Interior, Luis Fernando Velasco; and the former director of DAPRE, Carlos Ramón González; against whom an attempt will be made to review whether they directed contracts to favor congressmen, in exchange for the approval of social reforms and other projects.
Targeted Contracts
In its statement, the Attorney General’s Office added that in the investigation, which also covers Olmedo López, it was also alleged that the first two servants apparently made the call for contributors and selection of the contractor, and instructed the trustee to prepare the legal transaction.
In the case of Daniela Andrade Valencia, it was explained that she signed the contract as a representative of Fiduprevisora SA, spokesperson and administrator of the National Disaster Risk Management Fund.
“Finally, to the file that was opened on May 31 against López and Pinilla “Due to alleged irregularities in the contractual process managed for the rental of 30 tanker trucks for the department of Córdoba, Meza Galván and the legal representative of the company Proyect ING SAS, Nelson Raúl Triana Cárdenas, were linked,” the statement says.

The Attorney General’s Office argued that after reviewing the existing evidence and the documents submitted, there is grounds for analyzing the alleged participation of the two officials, who could see their disciplinary responsibility compromised in the events under investigation.
All this, while the Attorney General’s Office advances with its judicial investigations and Sneyder Pinilla and Olmedo López seek an agreement, in exchange for collaborating with justice and providing evidence such as the chats that have been known in recent days, where the order to direct the contracts would have been given.
