This reform on organic simplification, which will be voted on by the Chamber of Deputies and then by the Senate, takes up the ideas of the president.
He explains that, since their creation and until 2024, the autonomous bodies have spent a public budget of 32,313 million pesos, so he also believes that their elimination will generate savings for the government.
“And most of them have presented an annual increase in their budget, which would be equivalent, for example, to 5.3 million Bi-monthly Pensions for the Well-being of Older Adults,” the initiative reads.
If the reform is approved, the Presidency will have to issue decrees to extinguish these autonomous bodies and Congress will have one year to adapt the corresponding laws.
