Liliana Flores, Michel’s mother, said in an interview with Radio Uno that her last contact with her daughter was in early July, when the young woman was preparing to cross the border.
Discovery of the Body
According to preliminary reports, Michel’s body was found near the border wall in Tecate, Baja California, Mexico, by a resident of the municipality of Jacumé.
The family, concerned about the lack of communication, sought information about his whereabouts and it was through a Mexican website that they discovered the tragic outcome.
A family in mourning and in urgent need
Liliana Flores and her family now face the challenge of repatriating Michel’s body to Colombia. The cost of the process amounts to approximately 50 million pesos, according to a friend of the young woman.
Family, friends and acquaintances have started a fundraising campaign to cover these expenses and bring Michel back home to say his final goodbyes.
