In a joint operation between the Criminal Investigation Department of Andahuaylas and Cusco, two individuals were arrested who were transporting packages of marijuana in the district of San Jerónimo, province of Andahuaylas, Apurímac.
The intervention took place on July 28 at approximately 2:30 p.m. near the 08 de Julio extension – San Jerónimo district, place where the vehicle with license plate X3B-562 was intervened. Next to the vehicle, two men were handling polyethylene bags.
Upon noticing the police presence, they tried to flee, but were quickly subdued. When asked about the contents of the bags, They confirmed that they contained marijuana, These were found in ovoid packages wrapped in plastic film.
The detainees were identified as Ercilio M. D (32) and Robert MD (24), both from Vilcabamba, Cusco. During the intervention, nineteen ovoid packages wrapped in black plastic were found, which apparently contained marijuana (cannabis sativa). For this reason, the effects were confiscated and transferred together with the people intervened to the Anti-Drug Area of Andahuaylas, after notifying the representative of the Public Ministry.
At the police facilities, the field diligence, orientation, discarding and weighing of drugs was carried out, to which the confiscated boulders were subjected, testing positive for cannabis sativa (marijuana), with a total weight of 33 kilograms.
