The mayor of the city of Gabriel Madrid Orue strongly questioned the fact that Dina Boluarte Zegarra did not mention the expansion of the Curumuy plant in her message to the nation.

“The efforts have borne fruit. However, we are concerned about the absence of some sensitive issues for the region, such as the expansion of the Curumuy plant and the water crisis in Piura. We were expecting a strong message that would give us some hope that this problem would be resolved in the short term,” stressed Madrid Orue, who assured that he will not sit back and do nothing.

“Together, we will continue to negotiate with the Executive these projects and all those that allow for the improvement of the quality of life in the province,” added Madrid.

The mayor asserted that water, a precious commodity for the population, must be a priority on the agenda of the presidency of the Republic.

“I trust in the good faith of the president to listen to the demands of our people. The country needs it. Piura needs it,” he said.

The mayor of Piura welcomed Boluarte’s announcements regarding the water and sewerage works for the 107 settlements of Piura, Castilla and Veintiséis de Octubre and the High Complexity Hospital.

“Finally, we have concrete information on these two important projects for the region,” he concluded.
