Damaso Lopez’s family chapel vandalized "Graduate"

In a video posted on social media, the chapel in southern Culiacán can be seen with broken windows, collapsed doors, destroyed benches and empty spaces where the bodies of the relatives of “El Licenciado” were found. Meanwhile, the authorities have not said anything about it.

Luis Fernando Gaxiola, former mayor of Eldorado and brother-in-law of Dámaso López, was also buried in this chapel, but his remains still remain there.

Damaso Lopez Nunez was deputy director of the maximum security prison in Puente Grande, Jalisco, when Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman was in custody. He allegedly established a network of prison guards who helped organize the drug trafficker’s escape in 2001. After that, “El Licenciado” joined the Sinaloa Cartel.

In 2017, Dámaso López Núñez was captured in Mexico City and was considered the successor of “El Chapo”, who was arrested for the third time a year earlier.
