“The resources obtained through the Aldir Blanc National Policy are essential to further enhance and promote Rio de Janeiro’s culture as it deserves. Our State Department of Culture will invest more than R$100 million in construction and renovation of cultural facilities, in the acquisition of collections, in various public notices, and also to train and qualify cultural managers and producers. This is a victory for the State of Rio and for our culture,” said Governor Cláudio Castro.

The first notice, Nossos Museus RJ, will be launched on Wednesday (31) and will guarantee 55 vacancies, with an investment of R$ 5 million, for proposals for maintenance, expansion and modernization of museums, in addition to actions in research, production, dissemination, enjoyment and universal access to the cultural heritage of Rio de Janeiro.

Pnab will also be responsible for holding six other calls for proposals starting in August: Creative Territories, Fluid Flows in Rio de Janeiro, Fomenta Festival, Reviver Memórias, Pontos de Cultura and Pontões de Cultura. Added to the value of the public call for proposals aimed at museums, the investment will be more than R$72.4 million for almost 900 vacancies. The package will serve segments such as traditional, peripheral and rural peoples, festivals and heritage restoration.

“We began developing our plan through a public consultation at the beginning of the year, to listen to the demands of the population and help define the characteristics of the target audience. The consultation process follows the same line adopted in the development of the Paulo Gustavo Law, which was a success, and meets one of the pillars of the administration, focusing on democratizing access and decentralizing the department’s resources,” highlighted the Secretary of State for Culture and Creative Economy, Danielle Barros. “We will work not only on promoting projects, but also on recovering spaces and training people,” she emphasized.

The Rio Municipal Theater, Casa França-Brasil, Museu da Imagem e do Som and the park libraries will also be included. Approximately R$20 million will be invested in construction, renovations and acquisitions of literary and real estate collections. The modernization of these spaces aims to improve the provision of services and customer service.
