A criminal investigation judge ordered the detention for 180 days in jail from Palmasola for Luis Fernando GP, who was found with large caliber weapon parts inside his home in the 3 de Mayo neighborhood, in the municipality of Montero.
Prosecutor Delmy Guzmán reported that Fernando GP was charged for the crime of arms trafficking and asked the judge to apply the extreme measure of preventive detention, since he was found in flagrante delicto with the weapon.
The Vice Minister of Internal Affairs, Jhonny Aguilera, indicated that in the police operation 84 pieces of weapons were seized high-caliber firearms, 54 magazines, a shotgun and a revolver.
“In an operation carried out between Friday and Saturday, it was seized instruments for assembling rifles, In addition to a shotgun and a revolver in the hands of Luis Fernando RP,” said Aguilera.
The deputy minister said that the detainee belongs to a criminal organization that is dedicated to arms trafficking, in addition to the fact that He already had criminal indecent assaults for this same crime, in 2019.
“We have established that these weapons come from a northern country, they are for civilian use because they lack the burst, which is a firing mechanism. These weapons enter (the country) disassembled and transported through various ports in Chile, thus avoiding border control,” he added.
