According to a report offered by Maduro, the protests that are taking place in several states of the country have managed to have an impact of 10% in proportion to the protests that took place in 2017.
Nicolás Maduro said on Monday that a significant number of people have been “captured” in the protests that have taken place in Caracas and other states of the country, following the announcements issued by the National Electoral Council (CNE) that declared him the winner in the presidential elections of July 28.
According to Maduro, in each of the protests, “we have captured a significant number of criminals in each of the protests and they have been identified in flagrante delicto.” He also pointed out that 80% of those captured supposedly have criminal records and are paid $150.
“Many of them have returned on flights sent by the Americans. They have been arrested in a state of drug addiction and armed,” he said.
Maduro said that an investigation is underway by the Attorney General’s Office, because many of them “are already talking.” He also pointed out that instructions have already been given to Attorney General Tarek William Saab.

“They intend to take over this point for an escalation of the riot. Today they tried to set fire to and cause damage in some parts of the country,” he said.
Maduro also denounced an alleged coup against Venezuela, “they intend to revive the riots. Here, April 11th, never again.”
