The Peruvian government expressed its rejection on Monday, following statements by Venezuela’s Attorney General, Tarek William Saab, where he announced that they had opened an investigation against opponents, such as María Corina Machado, accused of an alleged computer hack against the electoral system.
“The Government of Peru expresses its rejection of the recent statements of the Attorney General of Venezuela, in which he indicates that a formal investigation has been opened against Mr. Lester Toledo, Mr. Leopoldo López and Mrs. María Corina Machado, identifying them as responsible for an alleged computer attack against the Venezuelan electoral system.“, reads the statement from the Peruvian Foreign Ministry.
Likewise, Foreign Minister Javier González-Olaechea told RPP that they have evidence of the alteration of the voting results by the Chavista government. On the other hand, he requested the presence of international experts to verify the possible fraud in favor of Maduro.
“The Attorney General of Venezuela has accused four people, including Mrs. Maria Corina Machado, of having hacked the electoral system to alter the votes. However, we have evidence that the alteration was done by the government and you will see this published in some media.
