They agree to improve technical training

He National Institute for Technical and Professional Training (Infotep) and the Guyana Ministry of Labour signed a memorandum of understanding to implement integrated projects aimed at improving the technical-vocational training system in Guyana and the Dominican Republic.

The agreement, which will be valid for five years, was signed by the general director of Infotep, Rafael Santos Badiaand Guyana’s Minister of Labour, Joseph Hamilton and Richard MaughnDirector of the Guyana Industrial Training Board.

The institutions will jointly finance the various projects arising from this agreement and promote trade and labour exchange between companies from both countries.

They committed to work on modernizing training programs and strengthening the profile of teachers, which will have an impact on the quality of graduates and their incorporation into the labor market. In addition, they will implement good practices in support systems for employment and labour mobility, develop digital solutions and platforms for technical training programmes.
