Deputy José Horacio questions the veracity of the results that give victory to Maduro in Venezuela

Santo Domingo.- Deputy José Horacio Rodríguez has joined the list of personalities who have undermined the merits of the results published by the National Electoral Council that give victory to the president and candidate Nicolás Maduro Moros in the Venezuelan elections.

“There is no ideological affinity that allows me to defend the indefensible. The published result is not credible; the signs that lead to a great fraud are more than obvious,” the legislator of the Democratic Option Party posted on his X account.

The young congressman compared the electoral process with the one staged in the Dominican Republic in 1990, when then-President Joaquín Balaguer was accused of committing fraud to defeat Juan Bosch, the candidate of the Dominican Liberation Party.

“What Venezuela is experiencing today in electoral terms, we Dominicans suffered with Balaguer until the 90s. And at the time, Venezuela’s support was crucial to ending the 12 years and returning freedom to us Dominicans. Much strength and endurance in these difficult times for the Venezuelan people from the Dominican Republic!” he criticized.

José Horacio’s post has generated dozens of responses, including that of the director of the Special Fund for Agricultural Development (FEDA), Hecmilio Galván, who posted:

“Horacio, it is incredible that you are joining the lines of media manipulation that are already too well known. Frauds are proven, they are not hunches. The fact that you do not like a President is no reason to disrespect the electoral process of a country. Not like this.”

The results

The results published by the Venezuelan electoral body after counting 80 percent of the votes, give a victory to Maduro Moros who reached 5.1 million votes, equivalent to 51.2 percent, while the opposition candidate Edmundo González added about 4.4 million, equivalent to 44.2 percent of the results computed.

He CNE indicates that participation reached 59 percent of the total number of Venezuelans eligible to vote.
