The president of the National Electoral Council (CNE), rector Elvis Amoroso, announced this Sunday the victory of candidate Nicolás Maduro Moros in the presidential elections who was reelected for the period 2025-2031.
Amoroso reported that “after resolving an attack against the data aggregation system that adversely delayed the transmission of the results of the presidential elections” he reported that with a transmission of 80% and a participation of 59% of the voters “and with a forceful and irreversible trend”, the candidate Nicolás Maduro Moros, sponsored by the Gran Polo Patriótico Simón Bolívar (Gppsb), obtained 5,150,092 votes representing (51.20%) of the vote.
Second place was taken by opposition candidate Edmundo González of the Democratic Unitary Platform (PUD), with 4,445,978 votes representing (44.2%) of the vote.
The top representative of the electoral body also reported that the other candidates obtained 462,704 votes, representing 4.6% of the vote.
Elvis Amoroso reported that in the next few hours the results table by table will be available on the CNE website “as has historically been done thanks to the automated voting system.
Likewise, the results will be delivered to organizations with political purposes on CD in accordance with the Law.
Third presidential term
Nicolás Maduro became interim president of Venezuela in March 2013, following the physical departure of the leader of the Bolivarian Revolution, Hugo Chávez. In April of that year, he won the elections with 50.6% of the votes, for the period 2013-2019.
Previously, he held the positions of deputy of the National Constituent Assembly (1999), deputy of the National Assembly (2000 – 2006), president of the National Assembly (2005), foreign minister (2006-2012) and vice president of Venezuela (2013).
In 2018 he was re-elected President for the period 2019-2024 with 5,823,728 votes (67.84%)
For this new presidential period corresponding to the period 2025-2031, with 5,150,092 (51.20%) its proposal is contained in the Plan of the 7 Transformations.
Once the election results were announced, the highest representative of the electoral body congratulated the participation of the citizens who went out early in the morning to exercise their right to vote in an atmosphere of peace and tranquility.
“Congratulations to all the people of Venezuela for their gallantry and recognition to the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) and the security forces that guaranteed peace and tranquility during this electoral process,” Amoroso said.
Sabotage of the electoral system
The president of the electoral body, Elvis Amoroso, denounced terrorist actions against the National Electoral Council system.
In this regard, Amoroso requested that the Attorney General of the Republic initiate an investigation “into the terrorist actions perpetrated against our electoral system and against voting centers and also against electoral officials.”
He also reported that before this electoral celebration, the enemies who tried to prevent the elections prevented our planes from arriving with the equipment used for the electoral machines. “They were diverted to another country. Fortunately, we solved it.”
Amoroso also urged the Venezuelan population to respect the Constitution and the laws of the Republic and the mandate of the people expressed in the voting machines.
“To those who participated in the contest, the recognition of the electoral authorities of the National Electoral Council.”
Finally, Elvis Amoroso, president of the CNE, called for peace throughout the country.
