Alleged “tourists” were denied entry by Venezuela

A group of men who were planning to enter Venezuela, presumably for tourism purposes, were refused entry and returned to their countries.

According to reports obtained by security agencies, the men, approximately 12, came from Croatia, the United Kingdom and Spain, among others.

Although they came from different countries, they all said they would stay at a famous hotel located in Altamira, Chacao municipality (Miranda). The Venezuelan authorities questioned these people and they said they came to do tourism but did not specify the attractions they would visit.

In light of the preventive measures taken by Venezuela in the context of the presidential elections, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has declared the entry of the subjects into the country inadmissible, the source said.
