Jerusalem (EFE).- Northern Israel suffered its deadliest attack since the start of the war in Gaza on Saturday, with more than a dozen children killed after a projectile fired from Lebanon hit a soccer field in the city of Majdal Shams in the Golan Heights, according to the Israeli emergency service Magen David Amon (MDA).
The rocket crash also left around thirty people injured, six of them in serious condition, 10 with minor injuries and several victims with symptoms of anxiety, according to the MDA report.
“This is the deadliest attack against Israeli civilians since October 7,” said one of the Israeli army’s spokesmen, Daniel Hagari.
One of the MDA doctors recounted what he saw when he arrived at the scene: “We witnessed a lot of destruction when we arrived at the football field, as well as objects that were on fire. There were victims on the grass and the scene was horrific.”
“Behind tonight’s attack is the terrorist group Hezbollah, which has very powerful rockets. The result has been very tragic, with the deaths of many children,” said Israeli military sources.
