Maduro: Capitalism and the extreme right have caused bloodbaths

President Nicolás Maduro said this Saturday during a meeting with more than 900 international observers in the framework of the presidential elections that unbridled capitalism and the extreme right provoke social unrest and have caused more than one bloodbath in Venezuela.

Maduro said that the American empire is the empire of war, death and lies.

He pointed out that “El Caracazo” was the first popular uprising against the International Monetary Fund and against savage capitalism.

He recalled that during the events of February 27, 1989, known as “El Caracazo,” the right-wing government was responsible for more than 5,000 deaths. And there was no international organization that raised its voice, silence from North America and Europe.

“There were more than 5 thousand ambassadors dead, and there was no UN, OAS, Almagro, or any of that garbage of the time that said anything (…) The garbage dump where there was silence.”

Maduro pointed out that the American empire led by Jorge Bush Sr. supported the massacre by Carlos Andrés Pérez in Venezuela at that time. “There was no statement from the European Union saying we are concerned about the violence in Venezuela, no, they covered everything up.”

Recalling Venezuela’s history, Maduro said that in 168 years all the presidents of Venezuela were puppets of the surnames of Caracas. “From the power of the old oligarchy and then of the emerging bourgeoisies of oil wealth, all responded with their different colors and coats in the 20th century, all responded to the sole and hegemonic mandate of North American imperialism.”

Simón Bolívar, the great liberator of America, was also mentioned in his speech, where the head of state recalled how Bolívar organized the most powerful continental army of his time and managed to unite the people in favor of a single homeland. “This land, rich in thinkers and liberators, continues to inspire a great revolution,” he said.

In addition, the national leader explained to the guests from around the world how the Bolivarian Revolution began, which led to the popular victory of Hugo Chávez, the commander who followed and propagated the nationalist thought of Simón Bolívar. “Through cassettes we began to hear the voice of Chávez, the principles of socialism, popular democracy and the entire system that he designed since the 1990s. That is how our history was built.”

He reminded the international attendees that “those fascist currents that you see out there: Milei, Bolsonaro, Álvaro Uribe, Iván Duque, were born here, the extremist Venezuelan right poisoned the entire Latin American right with radicalism and fascism.”

“These monsters were fed by the monsters and the monsters here,” the President stressed.

On the other hand, the national leader asserted that the people of Venezuela have resisted the sanctions imposed against the country, “these people have resisted heroically as in the times of Guaicaipuro, Bolívar and Zamora.”

Venezuela will be respected on June 28

During the ceremony, the dignitary pointed out that “the right always wins in the polls, but in the streets and communities we will have to continue winning.”

In this regard, he mentioned that in Venezuela, “on July 28, respect will be made and whoever tries to tarnish the name of the electoral system and the electoral power will dry up. No one will be able to tarnish it. In this country there will be peaceful elections, there will be recognition and there will be peace, peace and peace and future, no one will be able to harm the process.”

In another vein, the national dignitary told those present that “this is a country that is growing, democratising credit and protecting industry and agro-industry, a country that is raising consumption to levels never seen before.”

“A model that is emerging and modestly is an alternative model to the neoliberal extremism of wild capitalism, of the Milei. Venezuela is the alternative to the virtuous economic model. They manipulate Venezuela, they have not been able to defeat us, but they have so much colonialist pride that they do not accept that they are going to lose,” he said.

The president also shared with observers his experience during the pilgrimage he made during his electoral campaign, where he had the opportunity to interact with various communities, especially with the Wayuu and Añú indigenous peoples, and admired how these groups have managed to maintain their territory and preserve their identity in a changing context.

He stressed that he arrived “on the 28th and it will be peaceful,” and that “the terrorist groups are under control, later they will say that they are politically persecuted, but is the person who yesterday tried to blow up, burn and destroy the Ureña substation in Táchira, on the border with Cúcuta, a political persecutor?”

“They intended to destroy it, it would have been catastrophic, eight states in the west of the country would have been left without electricity, they are captured, convicted and confessed, they were sent, there are two Colombian paramilitaries who entered from Cúcuta,” described the head of State, maintaining that he has a gigantic file of the sabotages that have been prevented and repaired in real time.

“July 28th has arrived and they will not be able to avoid what is already written in the general will of a country. We have resisted the worst attacks, the worst times are behind us and I invite you to see in reality how better times have arrived for Venezuela and how what is coming for our country is beautiful,” emphasized President Maduro to the international attendees.
