About 56 companies were dedicated to facilitating their Social Security Access Code (Class) to health insurance sellers so that they can register in a way fraudulent as alleged workers to people who have diseases of high price.
These people were registered with wages minima and at the same time made intensive use of their Health insurance.
That was the modus operandi of the fraud that the Social Security Treasury (TSS) detected and submitted to the Attorney General’s Office (PGR) for investigation, according to Henry Sahdalá, head of that institution.
The amount of records is 13,120 and the loss The economic impact on the Social Security System that this represents amounts to 60.9 million pesos.
“There are some companiesI’m not going to say the name or size, they have dedicated themselves to facilitating that clue to people who walk on the street selling health insurance to people who are not workers, people who need or have a terminal illness or have a very serious illness, a high-cost illness, so they take advantage of that situation, with that clue They register them, whether the owner of the company knows it or not, and begin to demand services as if they were workers in the Dominican workforce,” explained the Social Security treasurer.
Sahdalá stated that “the complicity It is with him employer which makes it easier for them clue “the person who sells health insurance on the street” and they are asking for legal action against them, exempting the beneficiaries of the insurance.

Del Rio asked that it be investigate also within the TSS since, in his opinion, there must be complicity from within, something that Shahdalah denied.

The Minister of Labor, Luis Miguel Decamps, considered it necessary to place more emphasis on the sanctions administrative.
