The oil, gas and energy industries are the companies most affected by cyber attacks in Latin America, a region in which low investment in cybersecurity affects one in eight companies, according to a study published on Wednesday.
According to the analysis carried out by the firm cybersecurity Kaspersky, whose results are included in a statement released in Santo Domingo, the attacks against these critical infrastructure industries represent 27% of the total actions against companies, followed from the transport and logistics sector (18%) and manufacturing companies (15%).
In total, experts say, 12% of Latin American companies have suffered online incidents due to insufficient investment in cybersecurity in the last two years.
Given this situation, in the study the companies They assure that they will adopt measures to strengthen their securityparticularly through the implementation of threat detection software and training (53%).
Today, companies must “consider security as one of their objectives,” according to Claudio Martinelli, general manager for Latin America of the digital solutions firm.
