The President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, signed a decree conferring the Order of Friendship on senior Venezuelan officials, including the Executive Vice President and Minister of the People’s Power for Economy, Finance and Foreign Trade, Delcy Rodríguez, and the ambassador accredited in Moscow, Jesús Rafael Salazar Velásquez, according to the Mppre website.
The important recognition – published on the official website of legal acts – was awarded to five high-ranking Venezuelan authorities for their contribution to strengthening cooperation with the Russian Federation, reports note of the Chancellery.
The Order of Friendship was also awarded to the President of the Central Bank of Venezuela, Calixto Ortega, as well as to the Vice Ministers of Digital Economy, Banking, Insurance and Securities, Román Maniglia; and of Finance and Public Budget, Christiam Hernández, the statement said. The award has been granted in Russia since March 2, 1994, in recognition of foreigners whose work, actions and efforts are aimed at improving relations with the Russian Federation and its people.
Both nations maintain a relationship of strategic and comprehensive cooperation in areas such as energy, trade and finance, among many others.
