Maduro invited people in Aragua to vote with conscience on July 28

A conscious vote in favor of preserving peace and social security was requested by the candidate of the Gran Polo Patriótico, Nicolás Maduro Moros, in his closing campaign in the state of Aragua, where he addressed a crowd that filled the streets of Maracay.

The candidate for reelection asked the people of Aragua not to “allow their education, free health care and their homes to be taken away from them by the Great Venezuela Housing Mission,” achievements of the Bolivarian revolution that would be trampled on by a possible right-wing government, according to Maduro.

“We have built 5 million homes, but the people need many more. Who is going to build homes for the people? The oligarchy? We have to build 3 million more homes,” said the candidate.

He added that his offers “are not promises, they are facts. Of those 3 million new homes, I am already building 400,000,” he explained. “I do not promise anything, I commit myself. The revolution has a word and a commitment. That is what I learned from my father and teacher Hugo Chávez Frías,” he said.

Regarding his commitment to the people, he recalled that it comes from the grassroots, from his training, from his political leaders, but that it does not come from selling himself to those in power. “I have not been a puppet or a puppet of anyone. I am an independent president… I do not owe anyone any favors in this life, I have no skeleton in my closet, I am not blackmailable. I am not afraid of even the devil of the empire. I have the support of the people and of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces,” he explained.

“If they eat the light, it will be their last political mistake”

The socialist candidate recalled how the extremist sectors of the far right have deceived even their own followers, and now they come to ask for their vote “as if nothing had happened.” “They were told, let’s go to the guarimba and things will go better for you, they were told that Guaidó was coming and what did he do? Steal! We must tell the opposition people not to let them continue to deceive them,” he said.

“I have the moral authority to look these people in the eye and tell them that I am Nicolás Maduro Moros and I have come to ask for your vote to win again, because we are going to win again,” the president added.

He recalled that in this difficult process “we have come out ahead because we are a brave people. And Venezuela has taken the path of its own economic construction and the people know that we cannot open the door to fascism.” Regarding the intentions of some sectors of the extreme right to ignore the results and claim fraud in the event of a Chavista victory in the elections, he said that we must be alert and that the institutions and the forces of law and order will be in charge of enforcing the laws. “If they devour the light, it will be the last political error they commit. There will be no forgiveness, now there will be justice,” he said.
