At the end of the sixth forum on this reform, he explained that the session of August 1, which was called by the Constitutional Points Commission of the Chamber of Deputies, will be to approve the discussion schedule for the 20 initiatives sent by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador.
Just this Monday, the Chamber of Deputies called for an ordinary session to discuss and vote on the 20 constitutional and legal reforms that the president sent on February 5, including the reform to the Judicial Branch that establishes the election of judges by direct vote.
The Constitutional Affairs Committee of the said legislative chamber published the agenda for the 22nd session, which will be held Thursday, August 1stbefore the Judicial Reform forums conclude, which is expected to take place on August 8.
The Morena deputy mentioned that in the case of the reform to the Judicial Branch there is already a preliminary draft, which he assured will be “enriched” with what was presented in the forums that are still being held in various parts of the country, since during these meetings they have asked legislators to ensure the eligibility criteria of the judges who will be elected by direct vote and that this be applied gradually.
