Fire consumes part of supermarket in downtown Cusco (PHOTOS)

Early last Monday morning, a large fire consumed part of a well-known Cusco supermarket, located in the city center.

The neighbors of General Buen Dia Street, Located just a few blocks from the Plaza Mayor of Cusco, They informed the authorities about a fire inside the ‘Super Sol’ establishment.

The incident began at approximately 4:00 a.m., when, for reasons that are under investigation, The second floor of the business started burningthe flames spreading rapidly.

Firefighters from Unit 39 of Cusco were the first to arrivefighting the fire to prevent it from spreading to the Cascaparo market, located next to the emergency site.

Later, units from the 116th company of San Sebastián and the 119th company of San Jerónimo arrived, The fire was classified as Code 02, As mentioned by CBP Brigadier Ricardo Arenas, head of the Brigade of the IX Departmental Command of Firefighters of Cusco.

“An average of 20 employees worked, The initial attack work was carried out, followed by control, extinction and removal of everything, The causes are under investigation, probably by the police. There have been no injuries, only considerable material damage.”he indicated.

Finally the Men in Red made a call to the population to give way to emergency vehicles and to use the free line 116, only for true emergencies.
