Kenti Robles, after leaving Real Madrid: "All these years I forgot to enjoy"

The Mexican Kenti Roblesformer side of the real Madridadmitted on Monday that he has not enjoyed “much” of his life as a professional footballer, due to the demands of being in a competitive league like the Spanish one. “At 33 years old, I have not enjoyed much of my life as a footballer because of the demands I put on myself every day. It was not enough for me to win championships, to be what I was and there came a time, I don’t know when, when I realized that I was no longer enjoying this essence of when you are a child,” he explained in his presentation as a player of the Pachuca gophers of Mexican women’s soccer.

Last Wednesday, Robles, who won six league titles and four Queen’s Cups in Iberian women’s football, was announced as a new player for Pachuca, where she joined after being with Real Madrid since 2020. The Mexico City native had only played in Spain, where in addition to Madrid she played for Espanyol, FC Barcelona and Atlético de Madrid, clubs in which she built one of the best careers for a Mexican player.

“All these years I forgot to enjoy and love life. In Pachuca my goal is to feel like I’m playing in the street with my group of friends and family again. Pachuca is already a family to which I am open to contribute and grow with my teammates, making them shine,” added the Spanish national.

“I am motivated to continue competing, I am at a good age (33) to do so and to give back all my love, all my passion to my Mexico that I love so much. I went to Spain when I was eight years old and I am returning to contribute everything with the help of Pachuca, one of the few teams in Mexico that has contributed so much to its women’s team,” said the former captain of the Mexican national team, with which she played in the 2011 and 2015 World Cups.
