The Higher Education Access Test (PAES) is an essential step for all those interested in entering universities affiliated with the access system in Chile. This exam allows students to apply for higher education and is a fundamental requirement for the 2025 Admission process.
Although the inscriptions for the Regular PAES 2024 already began on June 10, there are still a few days left for those interested to complete this procedure. It is crucial to register before Monday, July 29 at 1:00 p.m. to participate in the evaluations that will take place on Monday, December 2, Tuesday, December 3, and Wednesday, December 4 of this year.
Leonor Varas, director of the DEMRE of the University of Chile, has emphasized the importance of carrying out the inscription in advance. According to Varas, registering on time allows applicants to carefully choose the location where they will take the tests and the specific assessments they will take. “It is key, then, to register in advance, carefully choosing the location where they want to take the tests and the tests they will take,” said Varas.
To register for the PAES Regular 2024, those interested must enter the Access Mineduc or DEMRE website and complete the registration form. Once this process is completed, they must download the identification card, which is necessary to take the tests.
Students currently in their fourth year of high school must register in the two mandatory tests (Reading Competence and Mathematical Competence 1) and at least one elective test (Science and/or History and Social Sciences). Additionally, if the degree program of interest requires it, they must register for the Mathematical Competence 2 (M2) test.
