The Executive Vice President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, affirmed that the victory of the president and candidate for reelection by the revolutionary forces, Nicolás Maduro, is very clear, and assured that it will be the triumph of the Venezuelan people.
“The victory of President Nicolás Maduro is already very clear, and it is also the victory of the Venezuelan people, because we will be there to claim the sovereignty and self-determination of Venezuela; the determination of this people to never let itself be defeated by the economic and criminal blockade against the country,” he said in statements to the media from the Iribarren municipality, Lara state, where he inspected the installation of 1,500 meters of drinking water pipes for the recovery of the La Paz system.
Rodríguez called on Venezuelans to go out and vote and not be complacent on July 28.
He also denounced the extremist opposition’s plans for violence, as warned earlier by the head of the “Our Venezuela” Campaign Command, Jorge Rodríguez.
“They intend to ignore us as they have always done, when they know they are lost, they intend to ignore the Venezuelan electoral power, through a private company that has only committed fraud from the private sector, we saw this in the internal primary elections of the opposition where this criminal organization Súmate committed fraud and they intend to do the same at the national level,” he warned.
He also pointed out that Súmate, an NGO linked to extremist opposition leader María Corina Machado, has the support of international media outlets that respond directly to the United States in order to ignore the results of the elections.
I vote in peace
After issuing the warning, Rodriguez said that the people of Venezuela are prepared to exercise their right to vote in peace.
“And on Monday, July 29, just as happened with the constituent election, we will continue working in peace,” he said.
The vice president said that Venezuelans want to work for the well-being of their families and live in peace in the economic, social and political spheres.
“We are going to take care of it. President Nicolás Maduro has said: ‘do not swallow the light, because it will be your worst mistake in 100 years’, and here we are going to act, justice is going to act, the security organs are going to act and the Venezuelan people will remain in peace,” he confirmed.
