Passenger transport by air in Colombia increased by 16.8% in the first half of the year

The Civil Aeronautics Department presented the most recent report on passenger mobilization by air during the first half of 2024.

According to figures consolidated by the Analytical Office, Around 26,859,000 passengers traveled through Colombian air terminals between January and June 2024.

This represents a significant increase of 16.8% compared to the same period in 2023, demonstrating the confidence of citizens, tourists and passengers in general in national air transport.

In figures, This means that 3,867,000 additional people traveled through the country’s airports during the first half of this year.

International passenger traffic increased by 11.7%, while domestic flights increased by 20.2%.

Freight transport

Confidence in freight and mail transport has led to an increase in the cumulative tonnage between January and June 2024, compared to 2023.

With a total of 465,174 tons transported, a growth of 9.2% was recorded compared to the same period in 2023. In numbers, 39,375 more tons were transported in 2024 than in 2023.

In June of this year, 2,289 more tons were transported than in 2023, which shows a 3.5% growth in the market.
