The US Embassy highlighted the investment of an American consortium in Lot X

The United States Ambassador to Peru, Stephanie Syptak-Ramnath, participated in the celebration of the $920 million investment by the Offshore International Group INC consortium in Lot X, located in Talara, Piura.

This year, the hydrocarbon investment promotion agency Perupetro SA signed a 30-year license contract for the exploitation of hydrocarbons in Lot X with Offshore International Group INC, which includes the Peruvian consortia Aguaytía Energy del Perú SRL and Termoselva SRL and Petroperú.

Over the next 10 years, Lot X’s current production of 10,000 barrels of oil per day is expected to increase by more than 50%, representing 30% of Peru’s total production.

The project is expected to create 5,000 new jobs, both direct and indirect. This, combined with the social and community development programs promoted by the consortium, such as job training and improvements to local infrastructure, will strengthen communities in Talara and contribute to greater environmental and social sustainability in the region.

Ambassador Syptak-Ramnath congratulated the consortium for its commitment to Peru’s energy and social development, highlighting the importance of this investment for the economic growth and well-being of the region.
