President Joe Biden advertisement who will end his re-election bid after weeks of intense pressure from Democratic leaders to do so.

Biden did ad today Sunday from his home in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, where he has been isolated since tested positive for COVID-19 Thursday night.

The event marks an extraordinary turn for Biden, who for three weeks remained defiant in the face of calls for him to withdraw after a disastrous debate with Trump on June 27. The president’s historic withdrawal puts the 2024 race, also marked by a attempt on Trump’s lifein uncharted territory.

“My fellow Democrats, I have decided not to accept the nomination and to focus all my energies on my duties as President for the remainder of my term,” he also said today in a post in X.

“My first decision as a party candidate in 2020 was to choose Kamala Harris as my vice president. And it has been the best decision I have ever made. Today I want to offer my full support and endorsement for Kamala to be our party’s nominee this year.

“Democrats: It’s time to unite and defeat Trump. Let’s do it,” he concluded.
