The Electoral Court is finalizing details to qualify the presidential election

Judges Felipe de la Mata Pizaña and Felipe Alfredo Fuentes Barrera, members of the Special Commission that is examining the challenges to qualify the presidential election, received the document from the Secretary General of Agreements, Ernesto Santana Bracamontes.

The Special Commission has announced that the final draft resolution will be released on July 24 and will then be circulated to the five judges of the Superior Court and to the sixth judge appointed to assist in the qualification, Judge Claudia Valle Aguilasocho, appointed last Thursday.

The latest date on which the TEPJF magistrates plan to resolve is next September 6, to give way to the renewal of the Executive Branch, on September 6.

The Superior Chamber of the Electoral Tribunal of the Judicial Branch of the Federation (TEPJF) is moving forward in resolving the challenges against the results of the election of deputies and senators and, at least for now, is heading towards dismissing the allegations presented against the presidential election for violence, the presence of organized crime and interference by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, among other irregularities.

So far, three “mother” appeals have been filed against the results of the presidential election. The PRD and PAN parties presented one, which the Electoral Court will analyze together with the citizen lawsuit filed by the former presidential candidate of the “Fuerza y Corazón por México” Coalition, Xóchitl Gálvez.

In addition, the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) filed its own challenge against the results, demanding that the election be annulled.

Before resolving them, the TEPJF must process the challenges to district and Senate results, the phase in which the magistrates are.

In total, 283 of these appeals were filed, which are Non-Compliance Judgments (JIN), of which at least the PRD filed 193, the PAN two, the PRI one and Movimiento Ciudadano 43.
