The Attorney General of the Republic, Tarek William Saab, announced through his account on the social network X the assignment of the 19th National Prosecutor’s Office to begin the investigation for an alleged “False positive” made by opposition leader María Corina Machado, after reporting in Barquisimeto alleged attacks on the vehicles she uses to get around.
Prosecutor Saab reported that the Public Prosecutor’s Office, after the arrest of one of the members of the Vente Venezuela team, will investigate the testimony given by Machado “who, without showing any evidence, stated that the vehicles he used to travel had allegedly been attacked,” the prosecutor said in his message.
“At this time, the subject who had been hired by the political leader is declaring in Lara the circumstances of manner, time and place, as well as the amount of money he was paid to fabricate this act, which constitutes a crime of Simulation of a Punishable Act, Dissemination of Messages that Cause Anxiety and Panic in the Population and Money Laundering,” said the prosecutor.
