Prominent personalities from various sectors of our country signed a declaration rejecting the repeated political violence imposed by the president Nicolas Maduro in Venezuela on the eve of the general elections scheduled for July 28.
“We express our absolute rejection of the threat made by dictator Nicolás Maduro that there will be a bloodbath if he does not win the elections on July 28. This infamous statement is accompanied by the arrest of campaign commandos of opposition candidate Eduardo González Urrutia, as well as numerous citizens who support his candidacy,” the document states.
It also reports on the campaign of intimidation that María Corina Machado is the object of, who, they recall, “has reported that individuals linked to the regime criminally attacked her and her entourage” within the framework of the campaign she is carrying out in favor of the opposition candidate Eduardo González.

“In the face of these events, we demand that the government express its repudiation of the continued barbaric acts committed by dictator Nicolás Maduro, that it proceed to recall our ambassador in Caracas for consultation, and that it urgently coordinate with governments in the region within the framework of the Inter-American Democratic Charter to demand the immediate cessation of these anti-democratic acts.”
The signatories include diplomats, businessmen, politicians and, in general, representatives of Peruvian society such as the former Peruvian ambassador to the United Nations, Victor Garcia Toma, Carlos Neuhaus; the former president of Confiep, Maria Isabel Leon, Lourdes Flores Nano, Pilar Nores, Roque Benavides, Martin Belaunde Moreira, Ismael Benavides, Natale Amprimo, Oscar Urviola Hani.
So far, it should be noted that the government of Dina Boluarte has not commented on the situation in Venezuela.
