The Attorney General’s Office today filed a constitutional complaint against the third vice president of Parliament, Yessica Rosselli Amuruz Dulantofor the allegedly irregular hiring of people close to her boyfriend Paul García.
In a statement, the Public Prosecutor’s Office reported that the complaint was filed through the Department of Illicit Enrichment and Constitutional Complaints in her capacity as a congresswoman and as the alleged instigator of the crime of incompatible negotiation or undue use of office to the detriment of the State.
In October of last year, it should be recalled, the program Final point reported that Rosselli Amuruz arranged the hiring of Alejandra García Oviedo, Erick Alexander Enrique Tirado and Angie de Glady Gómez Acosta in the Area of Legislative Quality and in the Office of Communications and Institutional Image of the Congress of the Republic, respectively.
In the case of Alejandra García, it is the sister of the former congressman for Popular Action Paul García, the legislator’s boyfriend.
This complaint was the reason for a motion of censure against Amuruz, which was rejected by different political parties such as Avanza País and Fuerza Popular.
Subsequent journalistic investigations revealed that at least eight people were recommended by Amuruz to work in different parliamentary offices.
The constitutional complaint filed by the Attorney General’s Office must now be forwarded to the Subcommittee on Constitutional Accusations, which will examine the matter in the legislative session that begins on July 26.
