The Mazatlan of the Spanish coach Beñat San José defeated America 2-1 on Wednesday Argentinean Santiago Solari and bottomed out in the tournament Closure 2022 of Mexican soccer. America pressed. A skirmish stopped the match for a few minutes, but Mazatlan held on and added its second win of the contest after three losses to climb from fifteenth to tenth place. The Águilas de Solari, former coach of Real Madrid, dropped to fourteenth place with 10 goals conceded, the third worst defense of the tournament. America added its third setback with a victory in the last four outings and with four points, it is seven behind the leader Puebla. On the sixth day of the championship, next Saturday Mazatlán will visit Querétaro, third from last in the table, and on Sunday América will host Pachuca, third in the standings.
