Sánchez, known for his closeness to former president José Mujica, will lead the strategies for the formula headed by Yamandú Orsi and Carolina Cosse.
During the primaries, Sánchez joined Orsi’s political team, who won by a wide margin, obtaining nearly 60% of the votes.
Orsi subsequently selected Carolina Cosse as his vice-presidential running mate.
