Media Law: Colorados appeal to Lacalle Pou's veto

The deputies that make up the government coalition resume the study of the law of mediaThe Colorado Party is calling for the President of the Republic, Luis Lacalle Pou, to guarantee the veto of Article 72, which was included at the request of Cabildo Abierto.

“Citizens have the right to receive political communication in a complete, impartial, serious, rigorous, partial and balanced manner between political actors,” states the article in question.

The Colorado Party of deputies will ask the Executive Branch to veto this article. “If the Executive Branch does not veto this article, we will surely be willing to present a bill to repeal this article (…), which we believe is an inadequate tool for freedom of the press.”
