The killing of Felipe de Jesús Perez Luna, alias “El Ojos”, considered the leader of the so-called Tláhuac Cartel in 2017, during an operation implemented by the Navy in that district, not only caused the gradual weakening of the criminal organization, it also revealed a network of corruption in the capital’s police and attorney general’s office.
Authorities in Mexico City set themselves the goal of putting an end to the criminal organization and therefore, they maintained their intelligence strategies to arrest members of this criminal organization.
On April 18, the Mexico City Prosecutor’s Office published in the official gazette a reward of 1.5 million pesos for three close relatives of Pérez Luna, that is, half a million each, who are presumed to be the main heads of the Tlahuac Cartel.
