The distance of the mile is 1609 meters round trip. The concentration of the athletes will be from the obelisk of the Naval Hospital to Las Palmas.
A national championship called ‘The urban mile Álex Quiñónez Martínez’will be held in the city of emeraldsthe next saturday february 26where athletes from all provinces of the country will participate. The day is organized by the Ecuadorian Federation of Athletics with the support of the Sports Federation of emeralds.
The tour begins at the obelisk of the Naval Hospital, it will advance along Del Pacífico Avenue to culminate in the Sirena monument in Las Palmas, and the award ceremony will take place in the lower area of Flopec, where it is also planned to award a prize to the honoree’s family.

The inscriptions of the athletes will be received in their respective federations, however, the Provincial Federation of Esmeraldaswill have an open category, and Esmeralda residents interested in participating will be able to register starting next week, they just have to present their citizenship card and provide other personal information.
The tour that will start at 08:00 on Saturday, February 26, will have a contingency plan to guarantee the safety of the athletes. Each province may participate with two male athletes and two female athletes per category.
