Havana/A traffic accident in Camajuaní, Villa Clara, has so far left one dead and 26 injured, one of whom was in serious condition on Sunday night.
The accident, the circumstances of which are unknown, involved a private car and a Transgaviota bus, which was traveling from Cayo Santamaría to the Abel Santamaría International Airport, with 38 people on board, presumably most of them tourists.
The deceased, however, is the driver of the car – Moskovich Aleko, according to a local resident – a Cuban whose details have not been released.

The injured adults – a total of 20 – have been taken to the Arnaldo Milián Castro Hospital in Santa Clara, while the children – six – were taken to the Pediatric Hospital. They all received first aid in the area of the accident, after the Curva de la Minerva, in an area known as Crucero de Carmita, and subsequent care at the Camajuaní clinic, Octavio de la Concepción.
As usual, not only rescue teams, including firefighters, the Red Cross and emergency doctors, but also members of the Communist Party and the Government, as well as tourism authorities, attended the scene of the accident.
It is still unknown what happened between the two vehicles and a debate has already arisen between those who claim that bus drivers drive at high speed and those who point out that if the roads were not in poor condition, these types of incidents would not occur so frequently.
