IN WHAT CASE SHOULD I SEEK MEDICAL ATTENTION FOR SIDE EFFECTS OF THE VACCINE?
While side effects from the vaccine may affect your ability to do your daily activities, they should go away within a few days, says the National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases (NCIRD) of the United States. In most cases, the discomfort of pain or fever is a normal sign that the body is creating protection. Contact a doctor or health care provider:
- If irritation or tenderness at the injection site worsens after 24 hours.
- If the side effects bother you or do not seem to go away after a few days.
HOW LONG DOES IMMUNITY LAST AGAINST COVID-19?
The immunity generated by the person after contracting COVID-19 is an average of three months. After that period, the possibility of reinfection increases, according to what Luis Pampa, an infectious disease specialist at the National Institute of Health (INS) of Peru, told the Andean news agency.
