The Minister of Security, Juan Manuel Pino, inaugurated the new Office of the Technical Council of Criminology, which will be in charge of governing and supervising the exercise of the criminology profession in Panama.
This office will have the mission of issuing the corresponding suitability to criminology professionals and will ensure strict compliance with the Law, Internal Regulations and Code of Ethics.
The purpose is that the person interested in this career meets the requirements established by the Law and an administrative resolution will be issued within a period of no more than 30 days.
This, Pino said, has been possible thanks to the approval of Law 386 of June 28, 2023 “That regulates the professional practice of criminology”, which is regulated by Executive Decree No. 12 of February 1, 2024.
The minister explained that the Criminology Technical Council is attached to the Ministry of Public Security and is made up of different government institutions, universities, unions and associations.
