After having granted a two-hour intermission to the blockade on the road to the valleys of Santa Cruz, the producers reinstalled the pressure measurement on the route. The dialogue with representatives of the National Hydrocarbons Agency (ANH) remains bogged down.
The meeting that takes place at the Mairana House of Culture does not advance. “They cannot find a solution. Farmers ask that with the IC and a certification from their union group, they can buy fuel, the ANH people insist on their requirements. Farmers say they work on rented land, They ask that the Minister of Government (Eduardo Del Castillo) solve the problem, otherwise they announce that the blockade will be indefinite,” reports Juan Carlos Aguilar, EL DEBER correspondent in that town.
Around noon, the director of the ANH, Germán Jiménez, came to Mairana to hold a meeting with representatives of the Florida Province Central and its six subcentrals, to address the control mechanisms for the marketing of fuel in this region of the country.
The producers have maintained a blockade, since yesterday Sunday, in two points on the old highway to Cochabamba, between Samaipata and Mairana, in protest because it is not allowed to sell more than 120 liters to each producer, just when the potato harvest begins in the Florida province, the producers said before the meeting.
Community residents Los Negros, from the Pampa Grande municipality, also joined the blockade, in support of the demands of the Mairana farmers.
