The New York Red Bulls signed Brazilian attacking midfielder Lucas Lima Linhares, known as “Luquinhas”, on Tuesday with a contract for the next three seasons.
Luquinhas, who was a double Polish champion in three years at Legia Warsaw, will join the New York club as soon as his P-1 visa is approved, the Red Bulls said in a statement.
“We are happy to add Luquinhas to our team. Our priority was to add a dynamic attacking player to the team and he fulfills these characteristics. His long experience, also in the Champions League, will be very positive for our squad”, assured the boss. New York football player Kevin Thelwell.
The new MLS season will begin on February 26, with the Red Bulls’ rival, New York FC, as defending champions.
