Government spokesperson Rosario Murillo announced, twice this week, that her regime is preparing the new “National Strategy of Education, Blessings and Victories” which from its title reveals that it is actually a strategy of “Sandinista indoctrination and propaganda.” that in the medium and long term it will cause severe damage to the country’s development, political scientist and opposition figure Félix Maradiaga has warned.
The vice dictator of Nicaragua said, on May 7, that a working commission, headed by the general director of the National Technological Institute (Inatec), Loyda Barreda, is working on a “New National Education Strategy” that, supposedly, will take into account It includes all levels, from initial education (preschool), primary education in its regular, multigrade and distance modalities in the countryside.
In addition, regular secondary school, distance learning in the countryside, online high school, literacy, educational continuity, teacher training, as well as technical education, arts and universities in all modalities.

According to Murillo, in the new strategy, “axes and guidelines” are supposedly defined that will be “consult at the national level”, in the so-called “congresses “45 years of victories, more triumphs of education”” that they will be holding with a view to the celebration of next July 19.
Education for totalitarian model
For political scientist and former political inmate Félix Maradiaga, this reform to the education strategy announced by the Ortega-Murillo regime represents a clear setback in the country’s development and an “affront to the fundamental rights of children and young people.”
The opponent warns that the educational reform promoted by dictatorial marriage is “one more step towards the totalitarian model of dictatorship.”
He also criticizes that the regime “makes up statistics” to show a greater number of students within the educational system and points out that educational quality has resulted in a collapse in learning indicators, as has been the case of reading, writing and mathematics in all levels.
“The strategy of saturating the educational system without adequately investing in infrastructure and human resources has proven to be an obvious failure,” says the opposition leader.

Likewise, remember that, as it has been denouncing for several years, both from the Institute of Strategic Studies and Public Policies (IEEP), and from the Nicaraguan Educational Forum (Eduquemos), “the Sandinista regime has used a ruthless propaganda strategy, to hide reality and promote a populist educational model that prioritizes the adulation of the figure of the Ortega-Murillo over the true academic and cognitive development of the students.
“The extreme politicization of the educational system, including the glorification of the Ortega-Murillo family in school textbooks, reveals a clear intention to use education as a tool of political indoctrination instead of as a means for citizen empowerment,” warns Maradiaga.
The political scientist insists that this strategy announced by Murillo is reprehensible in all aspects, especially because it is a “political manipulation of the educational system”, and its lack of commitment to true human and social development demonstrates a “flagrant contempt for the fundamental rights of the population and a significant obstacle to the progress of the nation.
