Martín reiterates that he will win this May 5 to recover the country from the hands of the corrupt, incapable and improvised

In a massive event, one of the three campaign closings of the presidential candidate of the Popular Party (PP), Martín Torrijos Espino, took place, who reiterated that he will win this May 5 to recover the country from the hands of corruption , of the incapable and improvised.

After pointing out that a little over a year ago when he announced to the country his decision to once again aspire to the Presidency of the Republic, the former ruler recalled that they called him crazy and that he did not have the slightest chance of success.

“Here I am; Martín Torrijos Espino, the son of Xenia Espino and Omar Torrijos Herrera, about to win, and we are going to win, I am ready, we are ready, and we are going to deliver; We are going to recover Panama from the hands of corruption, incapacity and improvisation; We are going to fight for you, to fight for your family, to fight for Panama and, God first, next May 5, the victory will be ours,” said Torrijos Espino.
Once again, he thanked the PP, “the one with the green star,” for having honored him and Rosario Turner Montenegro, as their candidates for the Presidency and Vice Presidency of the Republic.

Regarding his running mate, he repeated that she is a worthy representative of Panamanian women, an integral professional who gave the country security in times of uncertainty. “because of your honesty they took you out; “Today here we value you, we love you and we recognize your honesty and courage.”

Likewise, he thanked all those who opened their homes and hearts to him, who shared their anger, sadness, anguish and pain, but also their love and hope, just like his family. “Thank you, Vivian, for giving me your strength and your unconditional love; thank you Martín and Nicolás; Thanks, to my inseparable, Daniela.”

To the young people who do not know or remember his first administration, (2004 and 2009), and he said that he received, just like now, a country in crisis, a disaster, and in just five years he transformed it.

“We regained confidence and had a historical record in investments, in exports, including agricultural ones, and in employment were 250 thousand; we left the expansion of the Canal underway; We provide scholarships to thousands of Panamanians based on merit, not influence, especially indigenous people and young people who are really in need; “We solved the CSS pension problem by guaranteeing that our retirees would continue to receive income for 20 years.”

Furthermore, he changed the Constitution, without confrontations or traumas; strengthened freedom of expression and transparency; “I never sued or attacked a journalist” and made independent candidacies possible and stopped the growth of the National Assembly with 71 deputies. “Can you imagine if with these 71 the corruption scandals cannot be tolerated, how would we be with 129?”

Together with the PP, he stated, he exercised a good administration, in which Panama advanced like never before, economically and socially, and at the end, he gave Ricardo Martinelli a country very different from the one I received, with resources to invest in works. , but what followed next, “has no name.”

“They say what they did? Yes, but they did it by stealing; he did, but he stole is not worth it. As of May 5, neither corruption nor impunity; I am not here to cover anything from anyone; neither to the scoundrels of before nor to the scoundrels of now. I reiterate that I will reach the Presidency “not to govern with those who, from the leadership of the PRD, have shamelessly stolen this country,” he stressed.

He listed the long list of problems facing the population, such as inefficient public services, health and education systems that require urgent changes, public insecurity and influence peddling. “I have news for you; This is going to end; In eight days we remove these bandits from power.
“Yes, I’m talking to you about those same people who wanted to give the country to the mining company, but they found a brave people and youth, who, fed up, took to the streets and said No to the mine. And I reiterate: There will be no mining in Panama.

He committed to forming a unity government to which he will invite good Panamanians, as he did with Rubén Blades and Ana Matilde Gómez, people like Juan Diego Vásquez, Gabriel Silva and other young people who have done well, who have shown capacity and courage; as well as upright professionals such as Rosario Turner, Alberto Alemán Zubieta, Julio César Dely Valdés, Michelle Cansarí, Juan Carlos Arango, Juan McKay, and Gabriel Diez Montilla, among many more.

The former president expressed his respect for the presidential candidate Melitón Arrocha who, for the way he has conducted himself in this electoral campaign, while he stated for others that he is the only one who can beat them, and wants to do it with votes and not by forfeit. “Let Mulino come, with his corruption; let Lombana come with his hatred; and Roux with his mine!… .and your Gaby… the truth is that you don’t even count.
