Mesa affirms that lithium exploitation plans became a sign of “ineptitude” of the MAS

“Lithium exploitation plans have become another example of ineptitude and irresponsibility with which the MAS has managed the economy and the wealth of the country,” Mesa wrote in his account on X.

The former president added that, in 18 years of Masista administration, “We only saw inefficiency, improvisation and corruption with lithiumand now there are hidden contracts, plants that do not work and suspicious agreements.”

Therefore, “Bolivia cannot continue to admit this spectacle nor continue to see how the opportunity to exploit and market efficiently a resource that the world is demanding”, he pointed out.

On April 18, the executive president of YLB, Karla Calderónpresented a formal complaint before the Public Ministry for alleged corruption in the construction and maintenance of industrial evaporation pools.

According to the complaint, they allegedly committed the crimes of contracts harmful to the Statebreach of duty, uneconomic conduct and breach of contract due to alleged economic damage of more than Bs 425 million.
